14:1 Now Joab son of Zeruiah realized that the king longed to see ²  Absalom.

[14:20]  ¹ tn Heb “to know all that is in the land.”

[14:1]  ² tn Heb “the heart of the king was upon.” The Syriac Peshitta adds the verb ’ethre’i (“was reconciled”).

[4:29]  ³ tn Heb “heart,” i.e., mind. (The Hebrew term translated “heart” often refers to the mental faculties.)

[4:30]  ⁴ tn Heb “the wisdom of Solomon was greater than the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.”

[4:31]  ⁵ tn Heb “his name was in all the surrounding nations.”
