3:13 Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Why are you here? ¹  Go to your father’s prophets or your mother’s prophets!” The king of Israel replied to him, “No, for the Lord is the one who summoned these three kings so that he can hand them over to Moab.”

2 Raja-raja 4:27

4:27 But when she reached the prophet on the mountain, she grabbed hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to push her away, but the prophet said, “Leave her alone, for she is very upset. ²  The Lord has kept the matter hidden from me; he didn’t tell me about it.”

17:21 He tore Israel away from David’s dynasty, and Jeroboam son of Nebat became their king. ³  Jeroboam drove Israel away ⁴  from the Lord and encouraged them to commit a serious sin. ⁵

17:26 The king of Assyria was told, ⁶  “The nations whom you deported and settled in the cities of Samaria do not know the requirements of the God of the land, so he has sent lions among them. They are killing the people ⁷  because they do not know the requirements of the God of the land.”

2 Raja-raja 19:4

19:4 Perhaps the Lord your God will hear all these things the chief adviser has spoken on behalf of his master, the king of Assyria, who sent him to taunt the living God. ⁸  When the Lord your God hears, perhaps he will punish him for the things he has said. ⁹  So pray for this remnant that remains.’” ¹⁰

[4:27]  ² tn Heb “her soul [i.e., ‘disposition’] is bitter.”

[17:26]  ⁶ tn Heb “and they said to the king of Assyria, saying.” The plural subject of the verb is indefinite.
