1:9 The king ¹  sent a captain and his fifty soldiers ²  to retrieve Elijah. ³  The captain ⁴  went up to him, while he was sitting on the top of a hill. ⁵  He told him, “Prophet, ⁶  the king says, ‘Come down!’”

2 Raja-raja 8:6

8:6 The king asked the woman about it, and she gave him the details. ⁷  The king assigned a eunuch to take care of her request and ordered him, ⁸  “Give her back everything she owns, as well as the amount of crops her field produced from the day she left the land until now.”

2 Raja-raja 17:27

17:27 So the king of Assyria ordered, “Take back one of the priests whom you ⁹  deported from there. He must settle there and teach them the requirements of the God of the land.” ¹⁰

18:22 Perhaps you will tell me, ‘We are trusting in the Lord our God.’ But Hezekiah is the one who eliminated his high places and altars and then told the people of Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship at this altar in Jerusalem.’

22:9 Shaphan the scribe went to the king and reported, ¹¹  “Your servants melted down the silver in the temple ¹²  and handed it over to the construction foremen assigned to the Lord’s temple.”

2 Raja-raja 25:19

25:19 From the city he took a eunuch who was in charge of the soldiers, five ¹³  of the king’s advisers ¹⁴  who were discovered in the city, an official army secretary who drafted citizens ¹⁵  for military service, and sixty citizens from the people of the land who were discovered in the city.

This reading has some support from Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic witnesses.

[17:27]  ¹⁰ tc Heb “and let them go and let them live there, and let him teach them the requirements of the God of the land.” The two plural verbs seem inconsistent with the preceding and following contexts, where only one priest is sent back to Samaria. The singular has the support of Greek, Syriac, and Latin witnesses.
