2:27 Solomon dismissed Abiathar from his position as priest of the Lord, ¹  fulfilling the decree of judgment the Lord made in Shiloh against the family of Eli. ²

14:4 Jeroboam’s wife did as she was told. She went to Shiloh and visited Ahijah. ³  Now Ahijah could not see; he had lost his eyesight in his old age. ⁴ 

[2:27]  ¹ tn Heb “Solomon drove out Abiathar from being a priest to the Lord.”

[2:27]  ² tn Heb “fulfilling the word of the Lord which he spoke against the house of Eli in Shiloh.”

[14:4]  ³ tn Heb “and the wife of Jeroboam did so; she arose and went to Shiloh and entered the house of Ahijah.”

[14:4]  ⁴ tn Heb “his eyes were set because of his old age.”
