1:20 Now, ¹  my master, O king, all Israel is watching anxiously to see who is named to succeed my master the king on the throne. ²

20:40 Well, it just so happened that while your servant was doing this and that, he disappeared.” The king of Israel said to him, “Your punishment is already determined by your own testimony.” ³ 

[1:20]  ¹ tc Many Hebrew mss have עַתָּה (’attah, “now”) rather than the similar sounding independent pronoun אַתָּה (’attah, “you”).

[1:20]  ² tn Heb “the eyes of all Israel are upon you to declare to them who will sit on the throne of my master the king after him.”

[20:40]  ³ tn Heb “so [i.e., in accordance with his testimony] is your judgment, you have determined [it].”
