1:20 Now, ¹  my master, O king, all Israel is watching anxiously to see who is named to succeed my master the king on the throne. ²

19:13 When Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his robe and went out and stood at the entrance to the cave. All of a sudden ³  a voice asked him, “Why are you here, Elijah?”

[1:20]  ¹ tc Many Hebrew mss have עַתָּה (’attah, “now”) rather than the similar sounding independent pronoun אַתָּה (’attah, “you”).

[1:20]  ² tn Heb “the eyes of all Israel are upon you to declare to them who will sit on the throne of my master the king after him.”

[19:13]  ³ tn Heb “look.”

[22:38]  ⁴ tn Heb “now the prostitutes bathed.”
