Wahyu 11:2-3

11:2 But ¹  do not measure the outer courtyard ²  of the temple; leave it out, ³  because it has been given to the Gentiles, ⁴  and they will trample on the holy city ⁵  for forty-two months. 11:3 And I will grant my two witnesses authority ⁶  to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.

12:6 and she ⁷  fled into the wilderness ⁸  where a place had been prepared for her ⁹  by God, so she could be taken care of ¹⁰  for 1,260 days.

12:14 But ¹¹  the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, ¹²  to the place God ¹³  prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time. ¹⁴

[12:14]  sn The parallel statement in Rev 12:6 suggests that the phrase a time, times, and half a time equals 1,260 days (three and a half years of 360 days each).

It is, however, found in Ì^115vid א 051 1006 (1611) 1841 (1854) 2329 2344 2351 (Ï^K) lat sy^ph,(h) bo. Although the ms evidence is somewhat in favor of the shorter reading, the support of ̹¹⁵ (a recently-discovered ms) for the longer reading balances things out. Normally, the shorter reading should be given preference. However, in an instance in which homoioteleuton could play a role, caution must be exercised. In this passage, accidental omission is quite likely. That this could have happened seems apparent from the two occurrences of the identical phrase “and it was given to him” (καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ, kai edoqh autw) in v. 7. The scribe’s eye skipped over the first καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ and went to the second, hence creating an accidental omission of eleven words.
