Yesaya 8:22

8:22 When one looks out over the land, he sees¹ distress and darkness, gloom² and anxiety, darkness and people forced from the land.³

Yesaya 10:29

10:29 They went through the pass,

spent the night at Geba.

Ramah trembled,

Gibeah of Saul ran away.

13:12 I will make human beings more scarce than pure gold,

and people more scarce⁴ than gold from Ophir.

15:3 In their streets they wear sackcloth;

on their roofs and in their town squares

all of them wail,

they fall down weeping.

21:12 The watchman replies,

“Morning is coming, but then night.⁵

If you want to ask, ask;

come back again.”⁶

24:14 They⁷ lift their voices and shout joyfully;

they praise⁸ the majesty of the Lord in the west.

28:29 This also comes from the Lord who commands armies,

who gives supernatural guidance and imparts great wisdom.⁹

36:21 They were silent and did not respond, for the king had ordered, “Don’t respond to him.”

41:5 The coastlands¹⁰ see and are afraid;

the whole earth¹¹ trembles;

they approach and come.
