3:9 The look on their faces 1 testifies to their guilt; 2
like the people of Sodom they openly boast of their sin. 3
Too bad for them! 4
For they bring disaster on themselves.
13:2 8 On a bare hill raise a signal flag,
shout to them,
wave your hand,
so they might enter the gates of the princes!
13:4 9 There is a loud noise on the mountains –
it sounds like a large army! 10
There is great commotion among the kingdoms 11 –
nations are being assembled!
The Lord who commands armies is mustering
forces for battle.
28:22 So now, do not mock,
or your chains will become heavier!
For I have heard a message about decreed destruction,
from the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, against the entire land. 14
33:16 This is the person who will live in a secure place; 15
he will find safety in the rocky, mountain strongholds; 16
he will have food
and a constant supply of water.
46:1 Bel 17 kneels down,
Nebo 18 bends low.
Their images weigh down animals and beasts. 19
Your heavy images are burdensome to tired animals. 20
47:1 “Fall down! Sit in the dirt,
O virgin 21 daughter Babylon!
Sit on the ground, not on a throne,
O daughter of the Babylonians!
Indeed, 22 you will no longer be called delicate and pampered.
