5:6 Then 1 I saw standing in the middle of the throne 2 and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been killed. 3 He had 4 seven horns and seven eyes, which 5 are the seven 6 spirits of God 7 sent out into all the earth.
5:1 Then 8 I saw in the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne a scroll written on the front and back 9 and sealed with seven seals. 10
8:1 Now 11 when the Lamb 12 opened the seventh seal there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 8:2 Then 13 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 8:3 Another 14 angel holding 15 a golden censer 16 came and was stationed 17 at the altar. A 18 large amount of incense was given to him to offer up, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar that is before the throne. 8:4 The 19 smoke coming from the incense, 20 along with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 8:5 Then 21 the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it on the earth, and there were crashes of thunder, roaring, 22 flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
8:6 Now 23 the seven angels holding 24 the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.
8:7 The 25 first angel blew his trumpet, and there was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown at the earth so that 26 a third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
8:8 Then 27 the second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain of burning fire was thrown into the sea. A 28 third of the sea became blood, 8:9 and a third of the creatures 29 living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. 30
8:10 Then 31 the third angel blew his trumpet, and a huge star burning like a torch fell from the sky; 32 it landed 33 on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 8:11 (Now 34 the name of the star is 35 Wormwood.) 36 So 37 a third of the waters became wormwood, 38 and many people died from these waters because they were poisoned. 39
8:12 Then 40 the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. And there was no light for a third of the day 41 and for a third of the night likewise. 8:13 Then 42 I looked, and I heard an 43 eagle 44 flying directly overhead, 45 proclaiming with a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to those who live on the earth because of the remaining sounds of the trumpets of the three angels who are about to blow them!” 46
