Roma 7:8
7:8 But sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of wrong desires.
1 For apart from the law, sin is dead.

7:1 Or do you not know, brothers and sisters 2 (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is lord over a person 3 as long as he lives?
Roma 4:5
4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous,
4 his faith is credited as righteousness.
