Mazmur 79:1

Psalm 79¹

A psalm of Asaph.

79:1 O God, foreigners² have invaded your chosen land;³

they have polluted your holy temple

and turned Jerusalem⁴ into a heap of ruins.

Nehemia 4:2

4:2 and in the presence of his colleagues⁵ and the army of Samaria⁶ he said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they be left to themselves?⁷ Will they again offer sacrifice? Will they finish this in a day? Can they bring these burnt stones to life again from piles of dust?”

Yeremia 9:11

9:11 The Lord said,⁸

“I will make Jerusalem⁹ a heap of ruins.

Jackals will make their home there.¹⁰

I will destroy the towns of Judah

so that no one will be able to live in them.”

Yeremia 26:18

26:18 “Micah from Moresheth¹¹ prophesied during the time Hezekiah was king of Judah.¹² He told all the people of Judah,

‘The Lord who rules over all¹³ says,

“Zion¹⁴ will become a plowed field.

Jerusalem¹⁵ will become a pile of rubble.

The temple mount will become a mere wooded ridge.”’¹⁶

Mikha 3:12

3:12 Therefore, because of you,¹⁷ Zion will be plowed up like¹⁸ a field,

Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins,

and the Temple Mount¹⁹ will become a hill overgrown with brush!²⁰

Lukas 21:6

21:6 “As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another.²¹ All will be torn down!”²²
