19:12 A king’s wrath is like 1 the roar of a lion, 2
but his favor is like dew on the grass. 3
5:29 Their roar is like a lion’s;
they roar like young lions.
They growl and seize their prey;
they drag it away and no one can come to the rescue.
31:4 Indeed, this is what the Lord says to me:
“The Lord will be like a growling lion,
like a young lion growling over its prey. 4
Though a whole group of shepherds gathers against it,
it is not afraid of their shouts
or intimidated by their yelling. 5
In this same way the Lord who commands armies will descend
to do battle on Mount Zion and on its hill. 6
42:13 The Lord emerges like a hero,
like a warrior he inspires himself for battle; 7
he shouts, yes, he yells,
he shows his enemies his power. 8
25:30 “Then, Jeremiah, 9 make the following prophecy 10 against them:
‘Like a lion about to attack, 11 the Lord will roar from the heights of heaven;
from his holy dwelling on high he will roar loudly.
He will roar mightily against his land. 12
He will shout in triumph like those stomping juice from the grapes 13
against all those who live on the earth.
3:16 The Lord roars from Zion;
from Jerusalem 14 his voice bellows out. 15
The heavens 16 and the earth shake.
But the Lord is a refuge for his people;
he is a stronghold for the citizens 17 of Israel.
1:2 Amos 18 said:
“The Lord comes roaring 19 out of Zion;
from Jerusalem 20 he comes bellowing! 21
The shepherds’ pastures wilt; 22
the summit of Carmel 23 withers.” 24
3:8 A lion has roared! 25 Who is not afraid?
The sovereign Lord has spoken! Who can refuse to prophesy? 26
