3:7 The prophets 1 will be ashamed;
the omen readers will be humiliated.
All of them will cover their mouths, 2
for they will receive no divine oracles.” 3
3:6 Therefore night will fall, and you will receive no visions; 4
it will grow dark, and you will no longer be able to read the omens. 5
The sun will set on these prophets,
and the daylight will turn to darkness over their heads. 6
7:5 Do not rely on a friend;
do not trust a companion!
Don’t even share secrets with the one who lies in your arms! 7
7:19 You will once again 8 have mercy on us;
you will conquer 9 our evil deeds;
you will hurl our 10 sins into the depths of the sea. 11
7:10 When my enemies see this, they will be covered with shame.
They say 12 to me, “Where is the Lord your God?”
I will gloat over them. 13
Then they will be trampled down 14
like mud in the streets.
7:16 Nations will see this and be disappointed by 15 all their strength,
they will put their hands over their mouths,
and act as if they were deaf. 16
4:3 He will arbitrate 17 between many peoples
and settle disputes between many 18 distant nations. 19
They will beat their swords into plowshares, 20
and their spears into pruning hooks. 21
Nations will not use weapons 22 against other nations,
and they will no longer train for war.
