Ratapan 4:5

4:5 Those who once feasted on delicacies¹

are now starving to death² in the streets.

Those who grew up³ wearing expensive clothes⁴

are now dying⁵ amid garbage.⁶

Ratapan 4:16

4:16 The Lord himself⁷ has scattered them;

he no longer watches over them.

They did not honor the priests;⁸

they did not show favor to the elders.⁹

5:12 Princes were hung by their hands;

elders were mistreated.¹⁰

5:14 The elders are gone from the city gate;

the young men have stopped playing their music.
