2:17 The Lord has done what he planned;

he has fulfilled¹ his promise²

that he threatened³ long ago:⁴

He has overthrown you without mercy⁵

and has enabled the enemy to gloat over you;

he has exalted your adversaries’ power.⁶

3:46 All our enemies have gloated over us;⁷

Imamat 26:17

26:17 I will set my face against you. You will be struck down before your enemies, those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when there is no one pursuing you.

Mikha 7:8-10

Jerusalem Will Be Vindicated

Though I have fallen, I will get up.

7:10 When my enemies see this, they will be covered with shame.

They say²⁶ to me, “Where is the Lord your God?”

I will gloat over them.²⁷

Then they will be trampled down²⁸

like mud in the streets.
