17:1 When Abram was 99 years old, 1 the Lord appeared to him and said, 2 “I am the sovereign God. 3 Walk 4 before me 5 and be blameless. 6
15:11 Are God’s consolations 7 too trivial for you; 8
or a word spoken 9 in gentleness to you?
12:5 For calamity, 10 there is derision
(according to the ideas of the fortunate 11 ) –
a fate 12 for those whose feet slip!
12:6 But 13 the tents of robbers are peaceful,
and those who provoke God are confident 14 –
who carry their god in their hands. 15
12:7 “But now, ask the animals and they 17 will teach you,
or the birds of the sky and they will tell you.
12:8 Or speak 18 to the earth 19 and it will teach you,
or let the fish of the sea declare to you.
12:9 Which of all these 20 does not know
that the hand of the Lord 21 has done 22 this,
12:10 in whose hand 23 is the life 24 of every creature
and the breath of all the human race. 25
12:11 Does not the ear test words,
as 26 the tongue 27 tastes food? 28
