Yeremia 10:8

10:8 The people of those nations¹ are both stupid and foolish.

Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless!²

Yeremia 10:14-15

10:14 All these idolaters³ will prove to be stupid and ignorant.

Every goldsmith will be disgraced by the idol he made.

For the image he forges is merely a sham.⁴

There is no breath in any of those idols.⁵

10:15 They are worthless, mere objects to be mocked.⁶

When the time comes to punish them, they will be destroyed.

Yeremia 14:22

14:22 Do any of the worthless idols⁷ of the nations cause rain to fall?

Do the skies themselves send showers?

Is it not you, O Lord our God, who does this?⁸

So we put our hopes in you⁹

because you alone do all this.”
