Hakim-hakim 1:17

1:17 The men of Judah went with their brothers the men of Simeon¹ and defeated the Canaanites living in Zephath. They wiped out Zephath.² So people now call the city Hormah.³

Hakim-hakim 3:10

3:10 The Lord’s spirit empowered him⁴ and he led Israel. When he went to do battle, the Lord handed over to him King Cushan-Rishathaim of Aram and he overpowered him.⁵

Hakim-hakim 11:21

11:21 The Lord God of Israel handed Sihon and his whole army over to Israel and they defeated them. Israel took⁶ all the land of the Amorites who lived in that land.

Hakim-hakim 20:32

20:32 Then the Benjaminites said, “They are defeated just as before.” But the Israelites said, “Let’s retreat⁷ and lure them⁸ away from the city into the main roads.”

20:36 Then the Benjaminites saw they were defeated.

The Israelites retreated before⁹ Benjamin, because they had confidence in the men they had hid in ambush outside Gibeah.

Hakim-hakim 20:39

20:39 the Israelites counterattacked.¹⁰ Benjamin had begun to strike down the Israelites;¹¹ they struck down¹² about thirty men. They said, “There’s no doubt about it! They are totally defeated as in the earlier battle.”
