1:9 The king¹ sent a captain and his fifty soldiers² to retrieve Elijah.³ The captain⁴ went up to him, while he was sitting on the top of a hill.⁵ He told him, “Prophet,⁶ the king says, ‘Come down!’”

3:24 When they approached the Israelite camp, the Israelites rose up and struck down the Moabites, who then ran from them. The Israelites⁷ thoroughly defeated⁸ Moab.

7:9 Then they said to one another, “It’s not right what we’re doing! This is a day to celebrate, but we haven’t told anyone.¹² If we wait until dawn,¹³ we’ll be punished.¹⁴ So come on, let’s go and inform the royal palace.”

8:6 The king asked the woman about it, and she gave him the details.¹⁵ The king assigned a eunuch to take care of her request and ordered him,¹⁶ “Give her back everything she owns, as well as the amount of crops her field produced from the day she left the land until now.”

9:27 When King Ahaziah of Judah saw what happened, he took off¹⁷ up the road to Beth Haggan. Jehu chased him and ordered, “Shoot him too.” They shot him while he was driving his chariot up the ascent of Gur near Ibleam.¹⁸ He fled to Megiddo¹⁹ and died there.

17:21 He tore Israel away from David’s dynasty, and Jeroboam son of Nebat became their king.²⁴ Jeroboam drove Israel away²⁵ from the Lord and encouraged them to commit a serious sin.²⁶

19:29 ²⁷This will be your confirmation that I have spoken the truth:²⁸ This year you will eat what grows wild,²⁹ and next year³⁰ what grows on its own from that. But in the third year you will plant seed and harvest crops; you will plant vines and consume their produce.³¹

22:14 So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Acbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shullam son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, the supervisor of the wardrobe.³² (She lived in Jerusalem in the Mishneh³³ district.) They stated their business,³⁴

23:16 When Josiah turned around, he saw the tombs there on the hill. So he ordered the bones from the tombs to be brought;³⁵ he burned them on the altar and defiled it. This fulfilled the Lord’s announcement made by the prophet while Jeroboam stood by the altar during a festival. King Josiah³⁶ turned and saw the grave of the prophet who had foretold this.³⁷

23:25 No king before or after repented before the Lord as he did, with his whole heart, soul, and being in accordance with the whole law of Moses.³⁸

25:23 All of the officers of the Judahite army³⁹ and their troops heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah to govern. So they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah. The officers who came were Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maacathite.

Jehoiachin in Babylon

25:27 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of King Jehoiachin of Judah, on the twenty-seventh⁴⁰ day of the twelfth month,⁴¹ King Evil-Merodach of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, pardoned⁴² King Jehoiachin of Judah and released him⁴³ from prison.
