Reuben’s Descendants

5:1 The sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn –

(Now he was the firstborn, but when he defiled his father’s bed, ¹  his rights as firstborn were given to the sons of Joseph, Israel’s son. So Reuben is not listed as firstborn in the genealogical records. ²

Boundaries for the Land

47:13 This is what the sovereign Lord says: “Here ³  are the borders ⁴  you will observe as you allot the land to the twelve tribes of Israel. (Joseph will have two portions.) ⁵ 

Ibrani 11:21

11:21 By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped as he leaned on his staff. ⁶
