1 Samuel 9:16

9:16 “At this time tomorrow I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin. You must consecrate¹ him as a leader over my people Israel. He will save my people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked with favor on my people. Their cry has reached me!”

For they weep as they make their way up the ascent of Luhith;

Yeremia 14:2

14:2 “The people of Judah are in mourning.

The people in her cities are pining away.

They lie on the ground expressing their sorrow.¹¹

Cries of distress come up to me¹² from Jerusalem.¹³

Yeremia 25:34

25:34 Wail and cry out in anguish, you rulers!

Roll in the dust, you who shepherd flocks of people!¹⁴

The time for you to be slaughtered has come.

You will lie scattered and fallen like broken pieces of fine pottery.¹⁵

Yeremia 48:3

48:3 Cries of anguish will arise in Horonaim,

‘Oh, the ruin and great destruction!’
