1:14 Like obedient children, do not comply with¹ the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance,²

Ulangan 12:30-31

12:30 After they have been destroyed from your presence, be careful not to be ensnared like they are; do not pursue their gods and say, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do the same.” 12:31 You must not worship the Lord your God the way they do!³ For everything that is abhorrent⁴ to him,⁵ everything he hates, they have done when worshiping their gods. They even burn up their sons and daughters before their gods!

Roma 1:20-32

1:20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people⁶ are without excuse. 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts⁷ were darkened. 1:22 Although they claimed⁸ to be wise, they became fools 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings⁹ or birds or four-footed animals¹⁰ or reptiles.

1:24 Therefore God gave them over¹¹ in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor¹² their bodies among themselves.¹³ 1:25 They¹⁴ exchanged the truth of God for a lie¹⁵ and worshiped and served the creation¹⁶ rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

1:26 For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones,¹⁷ 1:27 and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women¹⁸ and were inflamed in their passions¹⁹ for one another. Men²⁰ committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1:28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God,²¹ God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done.²² 1:29 They are filled²³ with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with²⁴ envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips, 1:30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents, 1:31 senseless, covenant-breakers,²⁵ heartless, ruthless. 1:32 Although they fully know²⁶ God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die,²⁷ they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.²⁸

Efesus 2:2-3

2:2 in which²⁹ you formerly lived³⁰ according to this world’s present path,³¹ according to the ruler of the kingdom³² of the air, the ruler of³³ the spirit³⁴ that is now energizing³⁵ the sons of disobedience,³⁶ 2:3 among whom³⁷ all of us³⁸ also³⁹ formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath⁴⁰ even as the rest…⁴¹
