1 Raja-raja 18:36-39

18:36 When it was time for the evening offering,¹ Elijah the prophet approached the altar² and prayed: “O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove³ today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 18:37 Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, O Lord, are the true God⁴ and that you are winning back their allegiance.”⁵ 18:38 Then fire from the Lord fell from the sky.⁶ It consumed the offering, the wood, the stones, and the dirt, and licked up the water in the trench. 18:39 When all the people saw this, they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said, “The Lord is the true God!⁷ The Lord is the true God!”

Mazmur 84:6

84:6 As they pass through the Baca Valley,⁸

he provides a spring for them.⁹

The rain¹⁰ even covers it with pools of water.¹¹

Mazmur 107:35

107:35 As for his people,¹² he turned¹³ a desert into a pool of water,

and a dry land into springs of water.

Yesaya 41:17-18

41:17 The oppressed and the poor look for water, but there is none;

their tongues are parched from thirst.

I, the Lord, will respond to their prayers;¹⁴

I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them.

41:18 I will make streams flow down the slopes

and produce springs in the middle of the valleys.

I will turn the desert into a pool of water

and the arid land into springs.

Yesaya 43:19-20

43:19 “Look, I am about to do something new.

Now it begins to happen!¹⁵ Do you not recognize¹⁶ it?

Yes, I will make a road in the desert

and paths¹⁷ in the wilderness.

43:20 The wild animals of the desert honor me,

the jackals and ostriches,

because I put water in the desert

and streams in the wilderness,

to quench the thirst of my chosen people,

Yesaya 48:21

48:21 They do not thirst as he leads them through dry regions;

he makes water flow out of a rock for them;

he splits open a rock and water flows out.’¹⁸
