13:4 When the king heard what the prophet ¹  cried out against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam, standing at the altar, extended his hand ²  and ordered, ³  “Seize him!” The hand he had extended shriveled up ⁴  and he could not pull it back.

11:17 Woe to the worthless shepherd

who abandons the flock!

May a sword fall on his arm and his right eye!

Healing a Withered Hand

3:1 Then ⁵  Jesus ⁶  entered the synagogue ⁷  again, and a man was there who had a withered ⁸  hand. 3:2 They watched ⁹  Jesus ¹⁰  closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, ¹¹  so that they could accuse him. 3:3 So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.” ¹²  3:4 Then ¹³  he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?” But they were silent.
