Psalms 109:19

109:19 May a curse attach itself to him, like a garment one puts on, ¹ 

or a belt ²  one wears continually!

Ezekiel 26:16

26:16 All the princes of the sea will vacate ³  their thrones. They will remove their robes and strip off their embroidered clothes; they will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit on the ground; they will tremble continually and be shocked at what has happened to you. ⁴ 

¹ tn Heb “may it be for him like a garment one puts on.”

² tn The Hebrew noun מֵזַח (mezakh, “belt; waistband”) occurs only here in the OT. The form apparently occurs in Isa 23:10 as well, but an emendation is necessary there.

³ tn Heb “descend from.”

⁴ tn Heb “and they will be astonished over you.”
