9:35 Then Jesus went throughout all the towns ³  and villages, teaching in their synagogues, ⁴  preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. ⁵ 

¹ tn Grk “Nor do they light.” The plural in Greek is indefinite, referring to people in general.

² tn Or “a bowl”; this refers to any container for dry material of about eight liters (two gallons) capacity. It could be translated “basket, box, bowl” (L&N 6.151).

⁵ tn Grk “and every [kind of] sickness.” Here “every” was not repeated in the translation for stylistic reasons.
