6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat ¹  you.

Lukas 20:23

20:23 But Jesus ²  perceived their deceit ³  and said to them,

¹ tn The substantival participle ἐπηρεαζόντων (ephreazontwn), sometimes translated “those who abuse” (NRSV), is better rendered “those who mistreat,” a more general term (see L&N 88.129).

² tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

³ tn Or “craftiness.” The term always has negative connotations in the NT (1 Cor 3:19; 2 Cor 4:2; 11:3; Eph 4:14).
