Luke 2:20

2:20 So the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen; everything was just as they had been told.

Luke 9:32

9:32 Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, but as they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

Luke 23:48

23:48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.

tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate the conclusion of the topic.

sn The mention of glorifying and praising God is the second note of praise in this section; see Luke 2:13-14.

tn Grk “just as [it] had been spoken to them.” This has been simplified in the English translation by making the prepositional phrase (“to them”) the subject of the passive verb.

tn Grk “weighed down with sleep” (an idiom).

tn Or “after they became fully awake,” “but they became fully awake and saw.”

sn Some apparently regretted what had taken place. Beating their breasts was a sign of lamentation.
