Yeremia 51:50-51

51:50 You who have escaped the sword,

go, do not delay.

Remember the Lord in a faraway land.

Think about Jerusalem.

51:51 ‘We are ashamed because we have been insulted.

Our faces show our disgrace.

For foreigners have invaded

the holy rooms in the Lord’s temple.’


sn God’s exiled people are told to leave doomed Babylon (see v. 45).

tn Heb “don’t stand.”

tn Heb “let Jerusalem go up upon your heart.” The “heart” is often viewed as the seat of one’s mental faculties and thought life.
