Imamat 26:42-44

26:42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and also my covenant with Isaac and also my covenant with Abraham, ¹  and I will remember the land. 26:43 The land will be abandoned by them ²  in order that it may make up for ³  its Sabbaths while it is made desolate ⁴  without them, ⁵  and they will make up for their iniquity because ⁶  they have rejected my regulations and have abhorred ⁷  my statutes. 26:44 In spite of this, however, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them and abhor them to make a complete end of them, to break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.

7:9 So realize that the Lord your God is the true God, ⁸  the faithful God who keeps covenant faithfully ⁹  with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

⁹ tn Heb “who keeps covenant and loyalty.” The syndetic construction of בְּרִית (bÿrit) and חֶסֶד (khesed) should be understood not as “covenant” plus “loyalty” but as an adverbial construction in which חֶסֶד (“loyalty”) modifies the verb שָׁמַר (shamar, “keeps”).
