tc Some prefer to read here “bowls,” see v. 11 and 1 Kgs 7:45.

tn Heb “Huram Abi made for King Solomon [for] the house of the Lord.”

tn The Hebrew text lists two different types of shields here. Most translations render “the large and small shields” (so NASB, NIV, NRSV; NEB “King David’s spears, shields, and bucklers”).

tn Heb “divided up,” but some read חִלֵּץ (khillets, “despoiled”).

tn Heb “and they seized him with hooks.”
