1:12 you are granted wisdom and discernment. ¹  Furthermore I am giving you riches, wealth, and honor surpassing that of any king before or after you.” ² 

2 Tawarikh 23:11

23:11 Jehoiada and his sons led out the king’s son and placed on him the crown and the royal insignia. ³  They proclaimed him king and poured olive oil on his head. ⁴  They declared, “Long live the king!”

2 Tawarikh 29:22

29:22 They slaughtered the bulls, and the priests took the blood and splashed it on the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and splashed the blood on the altar; next they slaughtered the lambs and splashed the blood on the altar.

¹ tn Heb “wisdom and discernment are given to you.”

² tn Heb “which was not so for the kings who were before you, and after you there will not be so.”

³ tn The Hebrew word עֵדוּת (’edut) normally means “witness” or “testimony.” Here it probably refers to some tangible symbol of kingship, perhaps a piece of jewelry such as an amulet or neck chain (see the discussion in M. Cogan and H. Tadmor, II Kings [AB], 128). Some suggest that a document is in view, perhaps a copy of the royal protocol or of the stipulations of the Davidic covenant (see HALOT 790-91 s.v.).
