7:28 Their property and settlements included Bethel ¹  and its surrounding towns, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its surrounding towns to the west, and Shechem and its surrounding towns as far as Ayyah and its surrounding towns.

1 Tawarikh 22:8

22:8 But the Lord said to me: ²  ‘You have spilled a great deal of blood and fought many battles. You must not build a temple to honor me, ³  for you have spilled a great deal of blood on the ground before me.

1 Tawarikh 28:2

28:2 King David rose to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the Lord’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. ⁴  I have made the preparations for building it.
