16:1 Kemudian datanglah firman TUHAN kepada Yehu bin Hanani melawan Baesa, bunyinya: 16:2 "Oleh karena engkau telah Kutinggikan dari debu dan Kuangkat menjadi raja atas umat-Ku Israel, tetapi engkau telah hidup seperti Yerobeam dan telah menyuruh umat-Ku Israel berdosa, sehingga mereka menimbulkan sakit hati-Ku dengan dosa mereka, 16:3 maka sesungguhnya Aku akan menyapu bersih Baesa dan keluarganya, kemudian Aku akan membuat keluargamu seperti keluarga Yerobeam bin Nebat. 16:4 Siapa yang mati dari pada Baesa di kota, akan dimakan anjing dan yang mati dari padanya di padang akan dimakan burung yang di udara." 16:5 Selebihnya dari riwayat Baesa dan apa yang dilakukannya dan kepahlawanannya, bukankah semuanya itu tertulis dalam kitab sejarah raja-raja Israel? 16:6 Kemudian Baesa mendapat perhentian bersama-sama dengan nenek moyangnya, dan ia dikuburkan di Tirza. Maka Ela, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
