Ayat 2 dan 3 sampai dengan:...jemaah Israel dan berupa sisipan yang berasal dari 2Ta 10:2. Keterangan 1Ra 12:2-3 ini bertentangan dengan 1Ra 12:20 dan tidak terdapat dalam terjemahan Yunani. Nama Yerobeam dalam 1Ra 12:12 juga berupa sisipan. Maka menurut ceritera itu dan baru kemudian, 1Ra 12:20 dipanggil para pemberontak.

Maka mereka mengajukan tuntutannya dan minta jaminan sebelum mengakui Rehabeam sebagai rajanya. Kesulitan yang sudah lama tersembunyi sekarang tampil ke depan.
