12:39 Mereka tinggal di sana bersama-sama Daud tiga hari lamanya, makan dan minum, sebab saudara-saudara mereka menyajikan makanan bagi mereka. 12:40 Juga orang-orang yang tinggal dekat mereka, bahkan dari Isakhar, Zebulon dan Naftali, membawa makanan dengan memakai keledai, unta, bagal dan lembu, yakni bahan makanan tepung, kue ara dan kue kismis, anggur dan minyak, lembu sapi dan kambing domba, dalam jumlah besar, sebab ada sukacita di Israel.

Bab ini terdiri atas dua bagian 1Ta 12:1-22 memuat nama-nama orang yang mendukung Daud sebelum menjadi raja 1Ta 12:23-40 menyebut pasukan dari masing-masing suku yang menjadikan Daud raja atas seluruh Israel. Dalam kitab Samuel tidak terdapat bagian yang sejalan. Bagian pertama mungkin diambil dari sebuah sumber yang tua. Jika si Muwarikh menyusun bagian kedua maka maksudnya ialah: memperlihatkan bahwa kerajaan Daud mencakup seluruh Israel bdk 1Ta 11:1. Tetapi daftar itu barangkali baru kemudahan ditambahkan pada kitab Tawarikh.
