20:13 Tetapi tiba-tiba tampillah seorang nabi kepada Ahab, raja Israel, serta berkata: "Beginilah firman TUHAN: Sudahkah kaulihat semua orang yang sangat ramai itu? Bahwasanya pada hari ini Aku akan menyerahkan mereka ke dalam tanganmu, supaya engkau tahu, bahwa Akulah TUHAN."

Kendatipun ketidaksetiaan Ahab dan umat Israel, Allah menunjukkan kemurahan-Nya kepada mereka dengan membebaskan Samaria dari kepungan tentara Aram (ayat 1Raj 20:20). Setahun kemudian Allah memberikan kemenangan gemilang atas Aram di bagian timur Sungai Yordan dekat kota Afek (ayat 1Raj 20:22-29). Sekalipun demikian, Ahab menolak untuk tunduk dan menyembah Allah Israel yang sejati.
