Bagian ini mengenai tiga suku yang menetap di sebelah barat sungai Yordan. Dalam bagian ini dipersatukan beberapa dokumen. Ada penentuan wilayah masing-masing suku sesuai dengan keadaan sebelum zaman para raja; ada juga beberapa daftar kota-kota dan daftar mengenai kota-kota Yehuda adalah paling terperinci; daftar-daftar itu sesuai dengan keadaan di zaman para raja. dokumen-dokumen tsb dipersatukan dengan ditambah beberapa sisipan (khususnya Yos 15:13-19; 16:10; 17:11-13), yang sejalan dengan Hak 1). Maksudnya ialah menyajikan gambar menyeluruh dari perebutan negeri di zaman Yosua.
