50:24 Berkatalah Yusuf kepada saudara-saudaranya: "Tidak lama lagi aku akan mati; tentu Allah akan memperhatikan kamu dan membawa kamu keluar dari negeri ini, ke negeri yang telah dijanjikan-Nya dengan sumpah kepada Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub." 50:25 Lalu Yusuf menyuruh anak-anak Israel bersumpah, katanya: "Tentu Allah akan memperhatikan kamu; pada waktu itu kamu harus membawa tulang-tulangku dari sini."

Iman Yusuf yang bertahan adalah dalam janji Allah bahwa Kanaan akan menjadi tanah air umatnya (Kej 13:12-15; 26:3; 28:13). Oleh karena itu ia meminta agar tulang-tulangnya dibawa ke tanah yang dijanjikan itu. Empat ratus tahun kemudian, ketika orang Israel meninggalkan Mesir untuk pergi ke Kanaan mereka membawa tulang-tulang Yusuf (Kel 13:19; Yos 24:32; bd. Ibr 11:22). Demikian pula, semua orang percaya tahu bahwa masa depan mereka tidak terdapat di dunia ini, tetapi di tempat yang lain, tanah air sorgawi, di mana mereka akan tinggal selama-lamanya dengan Allah dan menikmati kehadiran dan berkat-berkat-Nya untuk selama-lamanya (Ibr 11:8-16; Wahy 21:1-4).
