8:22 Demikianlah Edom memberontak dan terlepas dari kekuasaan Yehuda sampai sekarang ini. Lalu Libnapun memberontak pada masa itu juga. 8:23 Selebihnya dari riwayat Yoram dan segala yang dilakukannya, bukankah semuanya itu tertulis dalam kitab sejarah raja-raja Yehuda? 8:24 Kemudian Yoram mendapat perhentian bersama-sama dengan nenek moyangnya, dan ia dikuburkan di samping nenek moyangnya di kota Daud. Maka Ahazia, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia.

8:25 Dalam tahun kedua belas zaman Yoram, anak Ahab raja Israel, Ahazia, anak Yoram raja Yehuda, menjadi raja. 8:26 Ia berumur dua puluh dua tahun pada waktu ia menjadi raja dan setahun lamanya ia memerintah di Yerusalem. Nama ibunya ialah Atalya, cucu Omri raja Israel. 8:27 Ia hidup menurut kelakuan keluarga Ahab dan ia melakukan apa yang jahat di mata TUHAN sama seperti keluarga Ahab, sebab ia adalah seorang menantu dari keluarga itu. 8:28 Ia pergi bersama-sama Yoram bin Ahab untuk berperang melawan Hazael, raja Aram, di Ramot-Gilead. Tetapi orang-orang Aram melukai Yoram. 8:29 Kemudian pulanglah raja Yoram ke Yizreel, supaya diobati luka-lukanya yang ditimbulkan orang Aram di Rama pada waktu ia berperang melawan Hazael, raja Aram. Dan Ahazia, anak Yoram raja Yehuda, pergi menjenguk Yoram bin Ahab di Yizreel, karena dia sakit.

Tjorak tjeritera2 ini populer. Meskipun kisah Elisja' agak serupa dengan kisah Elija, malah peristiwa2 seringkali sedjadjar, namun tokoh ini sangat berbeda dengan Elija. Ia lebih adjaib dan sangat tjampur tangan dalam urusan negara dan ia sangat "patriotik". Tetapi Elisja'djauh dibelakang Elija sebagai tokoh agama. Elisja' mengepalai sematjam tarekat "nabi" atau "tjanterik nabi". Nabi2 itu ialah orang jang membaktikan dirinja sama sekali kepada agamanja, ibadat dan kebaktian Jahwe, hidup ber-kelompok2 dan rupa2nja menjendiri. Sebenarnja mereka kadang2 bertindak sebagai pesuruh Allah, tetapi bukanlah oleh sebab mereka "tjanterik2 nabi". Anugerah itu selalu suatu pilihan pribadi, jang tak dapat disampaikan kepada seorang selain oleh Jahwe sendiri.
