Kematian Samuel mengakhiri kehidupan salah seorang hamba Allah yang paling setia.

1) Ia bersemangat untuk Allah dan melakukan lebih banyak dari orang lain pada zamannya untuk menaati apa yang ada di hati Allah (1Sam 2:35; 12:7-25; 15:10-11,35). Hidup Samuel memberikan teladan yang unggul dari integritas, kejujuran, kesetiaan, dan kemurnian moral (1Sam 12:1-5).
2) Samuel mewariskan reputasi yang membuatnya sejajar dengan tokoh-tokoh PL yang terbesar. Allah sendiri menyebutkannya bersama dengan Musa (Yer 15:1). Samuel dan para nabi benar lainnya, bukan para raja, mewakili kepemimpinan rohani dan moral tertinggi di bawah perjanjian yang lama.
