Kejatuhan Adam ke dalam dosa mengakibatkan umat manusia mengalami dosa, penyakit, dan kematian secara universal. Sebagai bandingannya, pemazmur mendaftarkan berkat-berkat Allah bagi umat-Nya: pengampunan dosa, kesembuhan dari penyakit, dan karunia-karunia penebusan dan hidup kekal. Pengampunan adalah karunia pertama dan paling penting yang dapat kita terima dari Allah. Melalui pengampunan itu kita dipulihkan kepada Allah dan ditebus dari kebinasaan (ayat Mazm 103:4). Penyembuhan penyakit yang datang karena dosa dan Iblis juga merupakan bagian dari keselamatan yang dipersiapkan Allah bagi umat-Nya
