Mengenai ejekan atas berhala-berhala ini bdk Yes 40:18+. Bagian ini agaknya bukan karangan nabi Yeremia. Di dalamnya terungkap gagasan-gagasan yang sangat berdekatan dengan pikiran Deutero-yesaya, yaitu: berhala-berhala tidak berarti apa-apa; keluhuran Tuhan, Pencipta alam semesta, Yes 42:8+. Naskah Ibrani bagian ini agak tidak keruan. Yer 10:6-8 dan Yer 10 tidak terdapat dalam terjemahan Yunani. Urutan ayat-ayat dalam terjemahan ini berbeda dengan urutannya dalam naskah Ibrani. Yer 10:11 tertulis dalam bahasa Aram dan merupakan sebuah sisipan yang bermaksud menjelaskan Yer 10:12. Yer 10:12-16 terulang dalam Yer 51:15-19.
