Bab Yes 36:1-39:8 Yesaya diambil dari 2Raja dan ditempatkan pada akhir bagian pertama kitab Yesaya. Begitu dilengkapi tradisi-tradisi mengenai nabi itu. Dalam bab Yes 36:1-37:38 Yesaya menyusun bagian ini mempersatukan dua sumbernya: Yes 36:1-37:9,37:1-39:1-8 dan bab Yes 38:1-39:8 berasal dari kalangan para pendukung nabi, bahkan barangkali diangkat dari sebuah Riwayat Hidup nabi Yesaya. Tetapi ada sebuah kisah sejalan, yakni Yes 37:9-36, yang menonjolkan takwa raja Hizkia dan pertolongan yang diberi Yesaya: nabi juga menyampaikan beberapa firman Allah. Kalau firman-firman itu benar-benar disampaikan oleh nabi Yesaya, maka harus dikatakan bahwa firman-firman aseli disadur oleh murid-murid nabi.
