Rombongan yang diutus itu mencakup lima orang awam, delapan orang Lewi dan dua orang imam. Tugas mereka ialah mengajar hukum taurat, 2Ta 17:9. Hal semacam itu sukar dimengerti pada masa Yosafat, tetapi sesuai dengan keadaan pada masa Yosafat, tetapi sesuai dengan keadaan pada zaman si Muwarikh sendiri. Pada masa itu orang Lewi memang bertugas mengajar agama dan begitu sudah mulai disiapkan peranan rumah ibadat (sinagoga) dan para Ahli Taurat/Kitab.
