But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” ¹ 

Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

But God gives it a body just as he planned, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.

For the one whom God has sent ¹  speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit sparingly. ² 

Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. ¹ 

He thought his own people ¹  would understand that God was delivering them ²  through him, ³  but they did not understand. ⁴ 

In the same way, you who are younger, ¹  be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. ² 

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

Jesus replied, ¹  “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread ²  after I have dipped it in the dish.” ³  Then he dipped the piece of bread in the dish ⁴  and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.

“Peace I leave with you; ¹  my peace I give to you; I do not give it ²  to you as the world does. ³  Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage. ⁴
