Ayub 33:27-30

33:27 That person sings to others, saying:

‘I have sinned and falsified what is right,

but I was not punished according to what I deserved.

33:28 He redeemed my life

from going down to the place of corruption,

and my life sees the light!’

Elihu’s Appeal to Job

33:29 “Indeed, God does all these things,

twice, three times, in his dealings with a person,

33:30 to turn back his life from the place of corruption,

that he may be enlightened with the light of life.

Mazmur 130:3-4

130:3 If you, O Lord, were to keep track of sins,

O Lord, who could stand before you?

Yesaya 30:18

The Lord Will Not Abandon His People

30:18 For this reason the Lord is ready to show you mercy;

Yeremia 3:12-13

The Lord Calls on Israel and Judah to Repent

3:12 “Go and shout this message to my people in the countries in the north. 15  Tell them,

‘Come back to me, wayward Israel,’ says the Lord.

‘I will not continue to look on you with displeasure. 16 

For I am merciful,’ says the Lord.

‘I will not be angry with you forever.

3:13 However, you must confess that you have done wrong, 17 

and that you have rebelled against the Lord your God.

You must confess 18  that you have given yourself to 19  foreign gods under every green tree,

and have not obeyed my commands,’ says the Lord.

Yeremia 3:22-23

3:22 Come back to me, you wayward people.

I want to cure your waywardness. 20 

Say, 21  ‘Here we are. We come to you

because you are the Lord our God.

3:23 We know our noisy worship of false gods

on the hills and mountains did not help us. 22 

We know that the Lord our God

is the only one who can deliver Israel. 23 

Yehezkiel 16:63

16:63 Then you will remember, be ashamed, and remain silent 24  when I make atonement for all you have done, 25  declares the sovereign Lord.’”

Hosea 3:5

3:5 Afterward, the Israelites will turn and seek the Lord their God and their Davidic king. 26  Then they will submit to the Lord in fear and receive his blessings 27  in the future. 28 

Lukas 15:17-19

15:17 But when he came to his senses 29  he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food 30  enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger! 15:18 I will get up and go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned 31  against heaven 32  and against 33  you. 15:19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me 34  like one of your hired workers.”’

Lukas 19:5-8

19:5 And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up 35  and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, 36  because I must 37  stay at your house today.” 38  19:6 So he came down quickly 39  and welcomed Jesus 40  joyfully. 41  19:7 And when the people 42  saw it, they all complained, 43  “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” 44  19:8 But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give 45  to the poor, and if 46  I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”

Lukas 19:2

19:2 Now 47  a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector 48  and was rich.

3:20 Listen! 54  I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home 55  and share a meal with him, and he with me.
